Evi Panayiotou

Evi Panayiotou was born in Limassol, Cyprus. She graduated from the Rallou Manou Higher Professional Dance School in Athens, on a scholarship awarded by the painter and poet Nikos Engonopoulos. She continued her studies in New York at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and the Broadway Dance Centre. She also holds a diploma in Labanotation from the Centre for Movement, Research and Analysis in New York, as well as the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) teaching certificate.
As a dancer, she has collaborated with the Greek Dance Drama Company, performing in major productions such as Oedipus Rex, Medea, and Karagiozis.
She later worked as both a dancer and choreographer with the "Diastasis" dance group, presenting works in Cyprus, Greece, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, and the United States.
Since 1993, she has been directing her own dance school in Limassol, passing on her knowledge and passion for dance to younger generations.
She served on the Board of Directors of the New Movement of Dance Groups, Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus from 2012 to 2017, and on the Board of the Cyprus Dance Association from 2018 to 2022.
In 2009, she co-founded the interdisciplinary group aRttitude with author Maria A. Ioannou, blending contemporary dance with literature. She has choreographed most of the group's productions, with the aim of promoting contemporary art and culture both in Cyprus and abroad.
